Description

The naturalist guide organizes and comments on outings in the natural environment. It informs and raises participants' awareness of the natural heritage of Provence by traveling in complete safety on recognized trails.

The nature walks are not sporty and take place over half a day on short routes. During the walk, you become observers of nature in order to better understand the living world, this biodiversity that we talk about so much. The idea is to whet the curiosity of young and old alike through an environmental awareness approach. And to do this, what could be better than evolving in a department with a mild climate whose landscape diversity makes the Var famous.

It is by discovering its richness and studying its remarkable fauna and flora that the opportunity to introduce you to these natural spaces was born.

My desire today is to put my experiences and my academic background to the benefit of environmental awareness with Alex's Walks.

The naturalist guide can also participate in community life to address environmental issues with the general public. This also contributes to the development of his knowledge and allows him to continue training, accompanied by other specialists. Hosting conferences is also part of his skills as well as organizing themed stays, professional training or even nature activities for children.

Learn, discover, feel, observe, listen, together with fun walks accessible to all.

Practical information

The Villepey ponds

The Villepey ponds site is exceptional from an ecological point of view. The diversity of natural environments allows fauna and flora to flourish freely in a classified and protected natural wetland. Here the walker is just a simple observer of nature.

Alex's walks invite you to discover a unique place classified as a Natura 2000 zone. At the mouth of the Argens, the Villepey ponds walk is the ornithological walk par excellence. The site is a good place for observing several species of birds which are particularly fond of lagoons. Here, the landscape marks a break between the Maures massif and that of Estérel. This walk is ideal during hot weather since we mainly walk in the shade of the pine forest.

A drop of water in the Estérel

And yes, the Estérel has never ceased to amaze us. It is in the summer that the water lilies of the Aubert pond bloom. Between pine forest and red rocks, the walk here is silent, almost poetic. In spring, the smell of flowering heather (Erica arborea) perfumes the paths of the massif. In summer, this walk offers passages in the shade of Aleppo pines (Pinus halepensis). On sunny winter days, it's the turn of the mimosas to bloom and offer their yellow hues to the landscape. Each season has its charms! A little break in the middle of the route will be well deserved and will allow us to observe the amphibians.

Information

The walk can be canceled if weather conditions or restrictions require it (closure of massifs linked to fire risks). In this case, participants are kept informed and are refunded if no other date could be offered.
