Festival du Court-Métrage

from 20/01/2023 to 04/02/2023

Since its creation in 1995, the Fréjus Short Film Festival has established itself as one of the major short film meetings in France and at the start of the year in Fréjus. Each year, the teams research, select and program the best of contemporary creation, to make the public dream. Highlighting the most unique and innovative expressions, this film-lover's event reveals the talents of today and tomorrow.

Thus, this 26th edition is that of all possibilities in dark rooms, in order to immerse the spectators in a journey of wonder thanks to a rich and varied program, but not only. The Short Film Festival is also the meeting place for all the arts, since the fortnight is punctuated by exceptional events: film music concert, thematic cinema evenings, screening of the film "Le Roi de Paris in the presence of Dominique Maillet, director and Honorary President of the Festival.

From Friday January 20 to Saturday February 4, come and share around the 7th Art, happiness, laughter, emotions, within the many cultural sites of the City. Once again this year, the originality, quality and richness of the films in competition testify to the perennial inspiration of the authors. "There are a thousand ways to tell the same story, but the talent is to make people feel each time that this is how it should be told", explained the filmmaker Steven Spielberg, about the diversity of cinema.

The ambition of the city of Fréjus is to encourage and support the first steps of young creators, but also to encourage experimentation and audacity. Regardless of duration or format, what is celebrated in Fréjus, but also in each short film, is the talent and work of a director.

I warmly thank all the actors who worked on the implementation of the 2023 edition of the Short Film Festival, as well as the Presidents, Sylvie Aymé and Arsène Jiroyan, and the members of the jury. Through their action, they participate fully in the ambition we have in favor of creation and access to Culture for all, in order to make Art a tool that opens our eyes to the world.

I wish you all a good festival.
